The difference between forging and casting
(1) Concept difference
Casting: It is to turn a shaped metal liquid into a shaped solid.
Forging: It is to turn the solid of one shape into another shape.
The casting is like playing wax. You buy wax (scrap steel or raw iron) and then turn it into a liquid in the mold so that you can get different shapes. (Solid-liquid-solid)
Forging is like making bread. You knead the small dough, put it in the mold, and make different shapes of products. Almost a solid can become other shapes (solid to solids) at high temperatures.
The so-called casting is the process of casting the melting metal into the mold to obtain the casting. The casting of the casting major mainly studies the metal melting process and process control during the casting process.
Forging is a solid plasticity. It is divided into heat processing and cold processing, such as squeezing, pulling, rough and stamping.
(2) Forging is slowly forming, and casting is a one-time molding.
Casting: The melting liquid metal filling cavity and cooling it. A stomach is prone to occur in the middle of the part.
Forging: Mainly high temperature squeezing molding. The particles in the product can be refined.
The Hybrid Forged Billet Sport Cap offers 32 combinations of colors to personalize your NNX Wheels. Starting as 6061 billet aluminum, the cap bezels are machined, hand- finished and powder coated in Vossen’s Miami-based factory using the same finishes as NNX Forged wheels.
